Medical Insurance

Getting medical insurance can be a pain in the neck – but that pain in your neck could cost you an arm and a leg if you don’t have any insurance coverage!  We’ll briefly explain what health coverage is and where you can find good rates.  Our goal is to help you find the best plan for you.

Basically, health insurance is protection against medical mishaps, injuries and illnesses that you may experience as you grow older.  Like any form of insurance, health plans involve some element of risk, since you can never be sure that the money you spend on the coverage will go directly and completely to medical services.  On the other hand, without insurance, you run the risk of having to pay astronomical medical bills on your own.

As you search for health coverage, remember not to buy any plan until you have thoroughly reviewed it and compared it with quotes from other insurance providers.  Also, check with the Better Business Bureau to see whether an insurance company has had any complaints brought against it recently.  Check with A.M. Best (a big ratings bureau) to find out how financially secure the insurance company is.

A good health plan will not make you pay a large annual out-of-pocket expense.  Go for the highest deductible you think you can afford, but don’t settle for the prospect of a limitless expense – you never know when that might come back to haunt you.  In the end, our advice to you is to get all the free health quotes you can and settle on the insurance plan that gives you the most bang for your buck.
